Ukraine and France meet on Friday in the second round of fixtures in Group B, as William Hill make Laurent Blanc’s side a tantalising bet at 6/5 to take all three points in Group D.
One thing’s for certain, it is likely to be an incredible atmosphere in Kiev.
Ukraine started their tournament in the best possible way with a 2-1 victory over Sweden on Monday.
Andriy Shevchencko grabbed both goals in that game which sent the crowd wild. He will be looking to get on the score sheet again this time out and help Ukraine make the knockout stages.
- BEST BET: The French look too big not to back at 6/5 with William Hill. Samir Nasri and Frank Ribery should have enough to unluck the Ukraine defence. Get on the narrow French win 2-1 with Hills.
Oleg Blokin’s men currently sit top of the group but know it is still all to do as they face France and England in their remaining matches. A positive result here though would put them in a great position to qualify.
Blokin will be hoping that the Ukrainian fans get behind the team again and make it is as tough as possible for their opponents.
In terms of the betting in this match, Ukraine are the outsiders at 3/1 to take all three points.
As for France, it was a solid start to the tournament for them as they drew 1-1 with England in what was their toughest game of the group stages.
Laurent Blanc’s men had plenty of the ball but may be slightly concerned that they did not make a great deal of chances. However it was a good performance for the first game of a tournament.
Samir Nasri got the goal for France and he looked to be their biggest threat in and around the box. Nasri seems to of taken his form for Manchester City into the international level and could be key for his side in this tournament.
Blanc’s men know that they need three points from this game but it will be far from easy against a team that are on home soil and have plenty to play for.
France are the favourites to win this game with odds of 11/10.
